What is Balmy Blend Sparkling Matcha?

Balmy Blend is a sparkling matcha drink made with ceremonial-grade matcha, real fruit, and L-theanine. It gives you calm, focused energy without the jitters or crash you get from coffee. Available in two flavours: Pear and Yuzu.

Does it contain caffeine?

Yes — but only 31 mg per can (about a third of a standard coffee). The caffeine comes entirely from green tea and ceremonial matcha. There is no added caffeine.

What is L-theanine and why is it in the drink?

L-theanine is an amino acid found naturally in green tea. It works alongside caffeine to produce calm, focused energy — smoothing out the spike and preventing the crash. Each can contains 75 mg of L-theanine.

What are the ingredients?

Sparkling Matcha Pear: Carbonated Water, Pear Puree (5%), Lemon Juice, Agave Syrup, Tea Extract [Green Tea (30% L-Theanine), Ceremonial Matcha (0.05%)], Concentrate [Spirulina, Safflower], Vitamin C [Ascorbic Acid], Natural Flavouring.

Is it vegan?

Yes. All ingredients are 100% plant-based.

Is it suitable for people sensitive to caffeine?

Yes — Balmy Blend was created specifically for people who are sensitive to caffeine. The combination of low caffeine (31 mg) and L-theanine is designed to give you calm energy rather than stimulation. That said, if you have a medical condition, please consult your doctor.

Why does it contain Vitamin C?

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) supports iron absorption — something coffee and tannins actively inhibit. Each can provides 125 mg of Vitamin C (156% of the daily reference value).

I notice some sedimentation in the can. Is that normal?

Yes, completely normal. Balmy Blend contains real matcha and natural fruit, which can settle over time. Just give the can a gentle shake before opening.

How many calories are in a can?

Sparkling Matcha Pear: 33 kcal per 250 ml can.
Sparkling Matcha Yuzu: 43 kcal per 250 ml can.

Does it contain sugar?

It contains a small amount of natural sugars from fruit and agave syrup — 2.9 g per 100 ml for Pear and 3.8 g for Yuzu. There is no refined sugar or sweetener added.

Storage & shelf life

How should I store it?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Best served chilled. Once opened, consume immediately.

How long does it last?

Check the base of the can for the best before date. Unopened cans kept in a cool, dry place will stay fresh until that date.
